DEWORMING
Most puppies and kittens are born with intestinal that can be confirmed by doing a fecalysis. As early as three weeks old, the veterinarian will give a dewormer to your pet that is needed to be repeated every 2 weeks until the vaccination regimen is done. Then, the routine deworming will be done every three months.
Some intestinal worms include HOOKWORMS (Ancylostoma spp), ROUNDWORMS (Toxocara spp), WHIPWORMS (Trichuris sp), and TAPEWORMS (Dipylidium and Taenia spp). Some protozoans can also cause diseases like GIARDIASIS (Giardia spp.), COCCIDIOSIS (Isospora and Eimeria spp), TOXOPLASMOSIS (Toxoplasma spp.)
It is an important procedure because some worms are zoonotic or can harm humans. Remember that prevention is always better than cure.
